This book presents with intimate detail of the oral tradition the main practics of the Mahayana Buddhist path. It details the attitudes cultivated in meditation--ranging from turning away from cyclic existence to developing love and compassion for all beings to the profound view of emptiness.Kesur Lekden was the Abbot of the Tantric Collage of Lower Lhasa prior to the Chinese invasion. Renowned among the Tibetans as a great lecurer on varied topics in this work he heighlights the incisive and direct approch of mind transformation that runs contrary to the ordinary worldly perspective.A scholar who knew the meaning of applying the great teachings as precepts for practical application Kesnsur Lekden embodied the total involvement of the mind as per Mahayana .Of particular interst is his explanation of the compatibility of exmptiness and dependent-arising showing that relization of emptiness opens the way for understanding the true nature of things both untimate and conventional. His blend of compassion and wisdom is most striking.
