Synopsis
Mythical Tibet:

The reality: Since 1959 China has occupied this country violating international public law and human rights. His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama the religious and political head of Tibet who received the Nobel Peace Price in 1989 lived in exile in India. However Tibet has remained however uncompromising; resistance has not been subdued. The author tries to link myth and reality: Based on personal impressions gathered during journeys to Tibet and from teh experience of many years working as a political analyst he perceives the synthesis of spirituality belief in the Buddhist teachings. Cultural identity and the political reutine of everyday life; an unique synthesis which is the source of strength behind the survival of Tibet. About The Author
Wolfgang Von Erffa has served on assignment to the United Nations in Asia; formerly he was the Deputy Director of the Office for External Relations of the Chairman of the GDU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany) and Regional Director for Asia Konrad Adenauer Foundation. He worked as a journalist specialising on Asia and is author of several books: The Other Face of Asia The Fate of Afghanistan and China s Policy as a World Power. The latter title received particular attention also in the People s Republic of China.
